Hi all,

I'm just wondering if any of you use Journler and Zotero (bibliography management tool/Firefox extension) and, if so, what your typical workflow looks like. I'm especially interested in seeing if you know any good ways to "mashup" these services together. I'm quite happy with how each program performs on its own, but I haven't come up with a satisfactory way to use them together, so give me some suggestions. :)

Normally, marrying application capabilities is what AppleScript is all about. Firefox, unfortunately, being a Windows port to Mac OS X, is nearly impossible to script.

I thought Firefox was originally for Linux? Anyway, it's definitely not cocoa--I've already run up against the scripting issue, as Firefox is unaffected by my awesome window size/move scripts. :(

Any other thoughts? Even if it doesn't involve scripting the apps together, I'm just looking for a good way to make use of both of them in my work.

I don't use Zotero, but I see it can export formatted text. If you want these references in Journler, just export them to a temp location, import them to Journler using the Jbox, then delete them from their temporary store. If you set up a folder action on your Temp folder, the import part can be automagic.

Cool idea, thanks. I will play around with it this afternoon and see if I can get something that works how I'd like.
